To obtain certification, all non-Professional Responder courses require:

  • Successfully demonstrate skills and critical steps

  • Min. 75% mark for written knowledge evaluation

CPR A with AED

Course on cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to provide the skills needed to recognize and respond to cardiovascular emergencies and choking for adults,

Course meets legislation requirements for provincial/territorial worker safety and insurance boards, and include the latest CPR guidelines and training in the use of automated external defibrillator (AED).


SFA - Standard/Intermediate First Aid CPR/AED

Intermediate. (CSA) Standard Z1210-17. Is a Comprehensive two-day course offering first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for those who need training due to work requirements or who want more knowledge to respond to emergencies at home. Course meets legislation requirements for provincial/territorial worker safety and insurance boards and includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines.

Emergency Child Care First Aid CPR/AED

Basic one-day course designed to introduce caregivers to injury prevention skills and knowledge. Course covers lifesaving first aid skills and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR and AED) for children, and babies. Course meets legislation requirements for provincial/territorial early childhood education and day care worker safety requirements.

Standard Child Care First Aid CPR/AED


Comprehensive two-day course offering lifesaving first aid skills, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills, and injury prevention skills and knowledge, with a focus on childhood injuries and illnesses. Includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines and meets legislation requirements for provincial/territorial early childhood education and day care worker safety requirements.

Marine Basic First Aid CPR/AED

Comprehensive two-day course designed to meet the needs of those expected to provide first aid in a marine environment. Course uses a combination of lecture, discussion, and scenarios taken from the marine/fishing industry to teach the required knowledge and skills. Course meets the requirements of Transport Canada outlined in Transport Publication (TP) 13008 E.

A student does not require a CDN in order to participate in a MBFA course

Wilderness First Aid CPR/AED

Participants will learn comprehensive first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills, as well as skills required to plan, prevent injury and promote safety for themselves and peers while in a wilderness or remote workplace or community. Instruction will focus on developing leadership skills, assessment, decision-making skills, and strategies for providing extended care for up to 24 hours. Prevention, health and wellness of the group is a key focus. Part of the course is taught in an outdoor setting and requires greater physical activity and endurance than typical first aid training.

Recertification of Marine First Aid is not permitted under federal regulations.

40 hour course that spends more than 50% outdoors

Must be 16 years of age and in good health and physical condition

Course meets legislation requirements for provincial/territorial worker safety and insurance boards, and include the latest CPR guidelines and training in the use of automated external defibrillator (AED).


EFA - Emergency/Basic First Aid CPR/AED

Basic - (CSA) Standard Z1210-17 is a one-day course offering first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for the workplace or home. Course meets legislation requirements for provincial/territorial worker safety and insurance boards and includes the latest first aid and CPR guidelines.
